Please note that this is a Department of Medicine position. The successful candidate to this vacancy will be an employee of the Department of Medicine and not The Ottawa Hospital.

Days, 8 hour shifts.

• Community college diploma or equivalent;
• Medical secretarial course or equivalent;
• 3 – 5 years of previous related administrative experience;
• Knowledge of medical terminology;
• Intermediate skills using MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
• Excellent organizational and time management skills;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• Ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential information;
• Ability to work collaboratively with other members of the division;
• Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision;
• Good judgement, initiative and excellent interpersonal skills;
• Experience booking appointments, consultations, procedures and filing patients report;
• Proficiency in English and French – oral expression (advanced level) and comprehension (advanced level).

Language proficiency requirements are based on the nature of the position and the level of interaction with French and English-speaking clients.

• Experience using EPIC.
