Who You Are

You are an experienced Clerk with a passion for people and a desire to make a difference. The work that you do at The Ottawa Hospital and The Testing & Assessment Centres matter because you are key player on a team who is committed to providing each patient with an exceptional experience by demonstrating compassion, respect for all, a collaborative spirit and a commitment to quality.  

What You’ll Do

• Communicate with patients about the use of the online booking module to schedule a test appointment for COVID-19;
• Create onsite requisitions, labels, manages calendar and monitors email; 
• Respond to inquiries from staff, volunteers, patients and members of the general public;
• Supports patients with appointment bookings and answers telephone inquiries.

Sounds like you? Do you have the skills and experience listed below?

• Secondary School Graduation Diploma (Grade 12);
• Six (6) months recent relevant clerical experience or experience booking patients;
• Successful completion of TOH medical terminology self-directed learning program or certification in medical terminology from a recognized educational institution;
• Demonstrated ability to participate as an active member of the health care team;
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in an oral and written format with patients, public, colleagues and other health discipline;
• Must be eligible to work in Canada.

You’ll stand out if you have…

• Proficiency in English and French – oral expression (advanced level) and comprehension (advanced level).
