Emergency preparedness is a critical aspect of CCH operations. It is essential that all staff and physicians receive training and understand their roles and responsibilities in this field.
Summary of responsibilities
The Coordinator of Professional Practice, Infection Control and Occupational Health, supports the Professional Practice, Infection Prevention and Control and Occupational Health, Safety and Wellness programs.
This position is 0.8 FTE.
General Accountabilities:
Supports the OHSW team through administrative assistance, coordination, and communication in the operations of the attendance management program and other assigned duties
Relays findings/issues to the Departmental Leadership, by phone, email or in person
Tracks and reports patterns to the Department Manager and Director as required
Provides monthly reports to all bargaining units as per the Collective Agreements
Acts as a liaison between departments
Supports the creation of reports, presentations and education materials required by the teams
Scheduling and communication related to education opportunities, orientation, occupational health meetings, committee meetings, etc.
Properly plan and complete all administrative tasks, assignments or projects so that target completion dates are respected.
Support student coordination and placement
Administrative support for departmental meetings and committees including the creation of agendas, meeting minutes, coordination
Educational support (i.e., creation of educational materials, advertisements, communications, coordination of logistical components, data entry/record keeping)
Clinical project support through coordination of working groups, project plans and communication
Development and editing of working group deliverables (i.e., toolkits, job aids, etc.)
Assist with data collection, preparation and presentation for ministry reports, publicly reported indicators and key performance indicators
Requirements of the job
Completion of a college certificate in business or healthcare administration or related field
Minimum of 6 months’ related experience is required.

Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
Exceptional communication skills with a demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
Computer literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Asset:
Functional level in oral French
Knowledge of collective agreements and experience working in a unionized environment
