Position Information | ||
The Ottawa Hospital is looking for a dynamic and talented health leader to join its Medical Imaging leadership team as Administrative Director. This is an exciting opportunity as we continue our journey of medical imaging services transformation through the optimization of a new health information and referral system, a multi-year capital equipment plan, and the future development of our new world-class Civic hospital.
This multi-site, fast-paced Service Line encompasses a significant clinical service footprint, representing approximately 500,000 patient encounters per year throughout our various imagining modalities. Medical Imaging is home to hundreds of highly skilled and dedicated leaders, staff, physicians, and volunteers delivering on our vision of providing world-class medical imaging services that we would want for our own loved ones. |

What you will do | ||
Reporting to the Executive Director of Ambulatory and Virtual Care, the Administrative Director is in a collaborative leadership dyad with their physician lead counterpart, the Department Head, Medical Imaging. The Director provides strategic leadership, vision, and direction for service line operations, including executing the operational workplan, ambulatory care transformation plan, virtual care innovation strategy, and driving the overall achievement of the organization’s quadruple aim. The Director is ultimately responsible for the delivery of high-quality, safe medical imaging services, and ensures they comply with imaging standards and accreditation requirements.
The Director interacts extensively with clinical, administrative, management staff and physicians, both internal and external to TOH, serving as the principal lead for medical imaging services. This position functions with a high degree of independence and autonomy and works closely with other Regional Directors of Medical Imaging across the province to standardize and coordinate the delivery of services for those we serve.

The ideal candidate will have strong clinical and business acumen giving them the capacity and capability to lead a multi-site, complex service line with an unyielding desire to advance clinical service efficiencies, enable improved performance metrics/outcomes, and empower a strong team to deliver on the organization’s longstanding vision. The candidate will bring a strong knowledge and experience in medical imaging and leadership, and a passion for innovation and clinical services transformation.
Ideally, the Director will bring a track record of collaboration and relationship building and be passionate about leading change and implementing sustainable practices that continue to enable a high performing, outcome-focused team. A developer of people, the Director will have the ability to coach, mentor and empower medical imaging frontline leaders. He/she will be a visible leader, and an excellent communicator that effectively models TOH’s corporate vision, mission, values and strategy to their managers and staff.
