Duties:
Clinical Focus
- Accountabilities for overall clinical operations and safety of two care units.
- Provide leadership to mentor, collaborate and problem solve issues as they arise on care units.
- Provide supervision and collaborate with Nurses assigned to Programming, Team Lead, Clinical Evaluation, Ward Clerks and line staff, to assist them in their roles and responsibilities.
- Ensure standards of care are adhered to on the care units.
- Facilitate communications with clinical staff from all care units to ensure optimal care is provided.
- Collaborate with Director, Patient Care Services to ensure coordination and integration of clinical and managerial practices.
- Communicate with stakeholders aimed at meeting health care needs of target population.
Management Focus
- Participate in development of policies, processes, objectives, standards and procedures to facilitate day to day operations.
- Participate in efficient and effective assignment and utilization of human and fiscal resources.
- Participate in annual staff development priorities, develop and deliver educational and training support.
- Ensure application of applicable legislation and contracts.
- Participate in scheduling according to patient needs, hospital contracts and policy.
- Participate in development of quality improvement, evaluation, accreditation plans.
- Develop and report monthly clinical and contract outcome indicators for clinical areas.
- Daily assignment of staff to meet clinical service requirements.
- Facilitate development of programs and services identified in service agreement.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Work in a manner that is in compliance with staff and patient/client safety practices, policies and procedures of The Royal.

Qualifications:
- Baccalaureate degree in Allied Health or Nursing or acceptable combination of education and experience dependent on the program area.
- Current registration and member in good standing with applicable regulatory college preferred.
- Current CPR Certification.
- Related experience, knowledge, and skills.
- Ability to work independently and as a team.
- Ability to manage conflicting priorities/multiple demands.
- Demonstrated ability to problem-solve/critical thinking.
- Ability to provide leadership within teams.
- Ability to work with a variety of professionals as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
- Ability to assess complex needs, to determine interventions, prioritize services required and implement solutions.
- Knowledge of legislated acts e.g. Mental Health Act, Health Care Consent Act etc.
- English level A- is mandatory in oral expression, comprehension, reading and writing. Bilingual (French/English) is considered and asset.
- Current registration and member in good standing with applicable regulatory college preferred.
