- Provide for installation, maintenance, repair, testing and certification of all plumbing systems and components in the Hospital
- Prioritize and complete all assign work orders by working independently and in teams with minimum supervision to assess situations, implement actions, and perform physical work/tasks
- Ensure that all plumbing installation are in conjunction with all applicable codes and best practices
- Practice preventive maintenance so that deficiencies and/or potential hazards are mitigated prior to occurring, and equipment is maintained at a high a level of efficiency
- Access appropriate information to source and order materials needed for installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing/piping system
- Co-ordinate/schedule and assist in the pumping of all grease and plaster traps with subcontractor, the force main pumping station and annual drain flushing with subcontractor
- Assist in preparing all relevant plan and procedure, to efficiently perform plumbing shutdowns required, co-ordinate all plumbing shutdowns
- Estimate time and materials for renovation, alteration, and/or maintenance projects.
- Be the first responder to Medical gas emergency calls
- Manager hot work permits and follow lock out/tag out procedures
- Prepare quotes and purchase orders to be submitted for approval
- Participate in the review of new project drawings and specifications to give input to ensure plan and specifications meet hospital requirements and standards
- Use their trade expertise to prepare all relevant safe work practice, documentation, procedures and emergency response protocols to ensure quick and effective response in case of emergency

- Certified Plumber
- Gas Technician
- Cross Connection Control Specialist (CCCS)
- Grade 12 education
- Minimum 5 years trade experience, at least 2 year of which are industrial/commercial/institutional systems
- Ability to work independently and autonomously
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications to applied relevant codes and standards
- Demonstrates computer competency
