The primary role of the temporary Screener is to welcome and screen all individuals entering the hospital for symptoms, signs and travel based on the provided screening guidelines using standardized TOH screening processes as well as infection control protocols. The Screener will be responsible to ask patients, employees, vendors and visitors a set of pre-determined questions before granting them access into the hospital and ensure strict confidentiality of health information.

• Greet employees, patients and visitors at designated hospital entrances;
• Ensure all staff, patients, visitors, and vendors entering the hospital follow proper precautionary measures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment, as required;
• Provide masks and donning instructions to patients, visitors, staff and ensures hand sanitizer is used as they enter the Hospital;
• Utilize the screening tools provided to assess eligibility for entrance, including screening for signs and symptoms based on the screening tools/protocols;
• Assist with sanitizing common surfaces at the entrances; 
• Act as a liaison between patients, visitors, staff and security and deal with queries as they arise;
• Assists patients and visitors as necessary with wayfinding as required.

• Completion of High School Diploma;
• Proven customer service experience. Experience in a clinical setting is an asset; 
• Excellent interpersonal, problem solving and decision-making skills;
• Able to take initiative and work with minimal supervision;
• Adaptable to different situations and able to work under pressure; 
• Able to follow direction and enforce protocols consistently; 
• Excellent communication skills in English (oral and written); French is considered an asset;
• Availability to work weekdays, weekends and holidays; shift work; days, evenings and nights.
