Description
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Manager, Strategy and Performance, the Senior Project Manager oversees the successful delivery of multiple high-priority projects, which often require considerable resources and high levels of functional integration.
The Senior Project Manager takes projects from original concept through final implementation and is responsible for all aspects of the project over the entire project life (initiate, plan, execute, control, close). Responsible for assembling project team, assigning individual responsibilities, identifying appropriate resources needed, and developing schedules to ensure timely completion of project.
The Senior Project Manager interfaces with all areas affected by the project including end users, distributors, and vendors. Ensures adherence to quality standards and achievement of project deliverables. Must be familiar with system scope and project objectives, as well as the role and function of each team member, to effectively coordinate the activities of the team.
The Senior Project Manager establishes and cultivates relationships at all levels to create the conditions required for effective engagement to support the delivery of strategic priorities. Works collaboratively with multiple internal and external stakeholders to ensure the successful integration and sustainability of project outcomes into day-to-day operations.
Requirements:
Education/Specific Training Requirements:
- Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in a health/life sciences, engineering or business administration field or recognized equivalent
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
Relevant Experience and Knowledge
- 5+ years of progressive project management experience – preferably in healthcare/hospital setting
- Relevant and recent experience in a hospital/healthcare setting
- Experience implementing clinical and/or business systems
- Ability to effectively manage time, prioritize work, multi-task across many assignments and delegate appropriately
- Able to assess the impact of new project requirements on an existing team workload
- Proficient understanding of Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK)
- Proficient understanding of project lifecycles within the project management discipline
- Knowledge of systems life cycle management concepts used in information systems planning, development, implementation, operation and maintenance
- Proven ability to develop relationships with key stakeholders to establish trust, credibility and respect
- Collaborative leadership style with the ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment
- Demonstrated exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to work effectively with a variety of professionals in a multi-disciplinary environment
- Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail and problem solving ability
- Excellent presentation, technical writing, facilitation and training skills
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Power Point, Project, Visio and Excel
- Good attendance and availability required
