Emergency preparedness is a critical aspect of CCH operations. It is essential that all staff and physicians receive training and understand their roles and responsibilities in this field.
Summary of responsibilities
As an integral member of CCH Health Information Services, the clinical data coordinator is responsible for ensuring a high level of quality in the organizations clinical data sets. This includes performing quality assurance audits. The coordinator works with the Business Intelligence Analysts on the reporting and development of clinical indicators for measuring performance in relation to strategic goals set by senior administration. The coordinator will also participate in reporting and analysis of clinical data to enable better decision making by directors and senior administration as well as working collaboratively with other members of the team to ensure reporting to the Wait Time Information System is accurate, complete and timely.
Requirements of the job
• Diploma or Degree in Health Information Services, or related field.
• Current member, or eligible for membership, with the Canadian Health Information Management Association (previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred).
• Demonstrated experience with both ICD-10 and CCI.
• Demonstrated experience with coding both inpatient and outpatient records.
• Demonstrated ability to work accurately under pressure.
• Ability to work with members of a multi-disciplinary team including the ability to communicate with professional and Medical Staff
• Results oriented work ethic and ability to work independently and deliver quality, consistent and timely results
• Demonstrated mathematical ability to compile and interpret statistical reports
• Demonstrated regular, punctual attendance
• Functional proficiency in English (oral and written)
