Position Overview
The hiring salary range for this position is from $85,608.90 to $98,471.10.
The Flow Cytometry Technical Specialist provides technical expertise in support of the daily laboratory operations. This role is responsible for supporting clinical assay development and validation projects, participating in education and teaching activities as well as other activities as required.
Rotation/Shifts
Days, 8 hour shifts. Rotation to other TOH campuses may be required. For information purposes only – EORLA reserves the right to change.
Basic Requirements
• Completion of a post-secondary degree or diploma in a relevant field of study;
• Current registration with Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS), College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO) or other relevant regulated body and/or Certification as a Specialist in Cytometry such as the SCYM from the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP BOC);
• Minimum of five years of experience providing technical expertise including setting up new tests and procedures with pertinent validation in flow cytometry;
• Advanced knowledge of Flow Cytometry, including the development of clinical assays, and comprehensive use of relevant computer technology;
• Understands occupational health and safety legislation;
• Good communication and interpersonal skills;
• Sound problem solving and conflict resolution skills;
• Highly motivated;
• Demonstrated organizational skills.
As a pre-condition of employment, all new EORLA employees will be required to obtain and provide a satisfactory Criminal Records Check dated within six (6) months from the date of issue.
