Summary of Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Senior Manager, the midwife, member of Hôpital Montfort’s Family Birthing Centre, works in collaboration with family physicians, pediatricians and obstetricians as well as multidisciplinary staff to provide safe, high-quality care to the families participating in the Postnatal Care at Home Program.
You will provide complete and safe care to mothers and their newborns delivered by a delivery physician at Hôpital Montfort who meet the criteria of the Postnatal Care at Home Program. You will lead group prenatal information sessions and provide individual postnatal care at home according to your field of practice in order to facilitate transfer from hospital to home.
Profile and Experience
• Priority will be given to midwives with active privilege at Hôpital Montfort
• Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences, Midwifery or equivalent
• Active member without restriction of the College of Midwives of Ontario
• Active member of the Association of Ontario Midwives
• Hold and maintain certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation, obstetric emergency intervention and neonatal resuscitation
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a midwife
• Hold proof of HIROC insurance
• Knowledge and ability to apply the postnatal care standards of the Provincial Council for Maternal and Child Health
• Knowledge of the regional and provincial healthcare system
Asset
• Experience in safety and quality assurance as well as care policy development
• Experience in implementing care programs for women
