- Developing project plans in concert with the Regional Director CHAMP, IS/IT
- Participating as a member of the MIS and Clinical Informatics teams in the development of required workflow maps
- Assisting with coordination of RFPs, working with purchasing and hospital staff to rank proposals and support the award to the tender
- Engaging the clinical and administrative teams to develop workflow processes that optimize efficiency, effectiveness and clinical benefits and ensure that these are reflected in the system build(s)
- Successfully executing approved projects to agreed time, scope, budget, and quality including developing objectives, phasing, and content of the project to deliver on the business case benefits, budget, and timescales
- Performing the relevant project management processes – i.e. initiate, plan, execute, monitor, control and close, and the supporting processes e.g. scope, cost, time, issue, risk, resource, communication, stakeholder management ensuring that the required artifacts (e.g. project charter) are delivered and approved appropriately
- Planning, monitoring, and managing change through formal change management processes and stakeholder/customer relationship management including reporting on variances to the approved project baseline and managing the approval or mitigation of these as appropriate
- Interfacing and communicating with project teams, management, customers, and stakeholders including implementing and working through defined governance processes
- Coaching and mentoring both customers and project team members in project management delivery fundamentals and the benefits to successful program and project delivery
- Supporting the design and implementation of the overall business workflow strategies
- Monitoring and managing project baseline to ensure activities are occurring as planned – scope, budget and schedule and managing variances
- Proactively identifying risks and issues on projects – leading team to develop risk management and issue management plans, create and implements strategy to mitigate shortfalls in timeline and budget
- Continuously re-evaluating project status, identifying issues and risks, and providing recommendations for resolution and escalate when necessary
- Maintaining steady communication with development and/or analytical staff, business customers, and management on all projects
- Closing the project and formalizing acceptance of the project results ensuring that the benefits realization have been achieved or a formal plan is in place to manage these
- Post-secondary education and a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in IS/IT project management
- Or 12 years’ related commensurate experience in IS/IT project management
- Proven experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills required
- Strong knowledge of project management best practices and methodologies
- Proven business analysis and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language
- Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
PREFERRED:
- Experience in a healthcare setting
- Experience in HL7 protocol
- PMP Certification
