The Quality Assurance Specialist is part of a team of individuals responsible for monitoring and improving the quality of assessment and treatments in our Network.  The QAS role will help inform program development, communication, education and training.  This person will be responsible for providing feedback both in writing, in person and/or by telephone to TOH allied health professionals or partner sites.   This person will be responsible for looking for quality improvement trends and communicating these to the OWN Quality Manager to inform future program development, education and communication. The Quality Assurance Specialist is also now responsible for liaising WSIB.

The home base for this position is the General Campus.

Days, 8 hour shifts.

• Master’s degree in Physiotherapy OR equivalent program recognized by the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario (CPO) or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy OR equivalent program recognized by the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO);
•  Successful completion of registration and examination process for physiotherapy as set by the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario (CPO) or College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario COTO);
• Working knowledge of regulatory standards set by licensing board (CPO) or set by the (COTO) licensing board;
• Recent and relevant experience with WSIB;
• Four (4) years of experience working as a Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist;
• Experience working with WSIB and/or third party payers;
• Experience writing extensive reports (e.g. Independent Examinations, Motor Vehicle Accident Assessment and Treatment Reports, Long Term Disability Reports);
• Ability to use multiple computer systems;
• Ability to review reports and provide feedback on the following: completeness of all sections, rationale, and recommendations;
• Ability to provide constructive feedback;
• Ability to summarize areas of improvements for Quality Control and update future education and change management;
• Ability to participate in WSIB Quality Assurance meetings;
• Ability to travel to partner sites to provide further education and training;
• Proficient with Microsoft Office;
• Superior written and verbal communication skills;
• Problem solving and judgment;
• Excellent Interpersonal skills;
• Ability to work as part of an interprofessional team;
• Must be eligible to work in Canada.

• Experience in WSIB specialty program;
• Proficiency in English and French – oral expression (advanced level) and comprehension (advanced level).
