The Arnprior & District Memorial Hospital and the Grove Nursing Home are located in the Town of Arnprior, less than 30 minutes northwest of Ottawa. There are approximately 380 staff, 200 volunteers, and a growing number of medical staff providing exemplary care to over 30,000 residents of West Ottawa, McNab/Braeside, Arnprior and portions of Mississippi Mills.

We currently have an opportunity available for a Full Time Nurse Manager of the Inpatient Unit.

This position, which reports to the Vice President of Patient Services, will provide operational management and clinical leadership for patient-focused care. This includes accountability for coordinating quality patient care, promoting and maintaining a professional practice environment, fostering a culture of continuous performance improvement, ensuring patient/staff safety, participating/leading initiatives, and managing implementation of the Arnprior Regional Health vision, mission, values to create a healthy community together.

The Nurse Manager of the Inpatient Unit is accountable for the for the coordination of quality patient care, promoting and maintaining an environment that fosters professional nursing practice, innovation, and professional development for nurses and students. The Nurse manager will contribute to policy review and development, facilitate continuous quality improvement/risk management activities, model positive acceptance towards change, and is a key member in leading and directing hospital projects, committees and programs.

As part of the Arnprior Regional Health team, the Nurse Manager ensures the alignment of human, financial, and physical resources for the delivery of safe, effective, efficient care and service. The nurse manager responds to arising issues, complaints, and incidents. Additionally, in collaboration with the VP of Patient Services and Senior Leadership Team, the nurse manager develops, monitors, and interprets the unit capital and operating budgets to maximize financial resources for patient care.

As an experienced leader in the nursing field, you will have the following qualifications:

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Nursing
  • Registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Master’s Degree in a related discipline (or in progress)
  • Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO) Membership
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years relevant clinical experience
  • Recent leadership/management experience (within the last 3 years)
  • Experience with leading Quality Improvement Initiatives
  • Demonstrated excellence in communication and interpersonal skills, sound knowledge and understanding of hospital policies and procedures, relevant legislation, collective agreements, Canadian Hospital
  • Association standards, and CNO Standards of Nursing Practice

Salary Range: $98,365.69 – $110,062.16 (2021 rates)
